    My Review
Those of you who don't watch a lot of TV probably really find my blog boring..but, I can't help talking about it because to be honest, it's a big part of my life. Go ahead, judge me all you want. It's my mother's fault.

But for those of you who feel me, lets hear the thoughts on SVU last night. First of all I must say it is WONDERFUL to have Mariska back! Yay for Olivia she does make the show better... last night there were many awkward moments as it was her first show being Elliot's partner again.. Yeah that diner scene? Hello awkwardness...there were so many times where I said to the TV, "Just TALK about it!!!" Jeez... they really need to have a heart to heart I think..all this ST and stuff is killing me. And Elliot, come clean about the little smoochy between you and the replacement detective lame-o. I know he feels bad about it.... They just need to TALK.. clear the air... For goodness sake Olivia has been gone for like 6-8 weeks! Don't you think he could've said some thing like, "So, how was the undercover thing?"

Anyway, that's my thoughts. What are yours? Does anybody watch it anymore? Come on guys... don't give up on them. It's a good show.

Here's some pics from that. And then also some pics from tonight - you wont beleive what's falling from the sky in Vancouver!!!! Wow.... all i can say is... mountain, here I come ; )

Today is Thanksgiving. It's always been such a special holiday for me and my family, with a get-together of great friends and family. And once I moved to Vancouver, although i missed home on this day, we always had a lovely meal with all the American staff, which was so fun. But this year, with the business of life I suppose, I will get to do neither and it is quite sad. I miss my family especially now too because I wont be able to see them at Christmas.

So what will I be doing for Thanksgiving, you might ask? Watching Grey's Anatomy being thankful for TV : )

    Happy Thanksgiving, Americans!

    Over the Rhine
For all my Over the Rhine fan friends, here's some clips i took at their concert wednesday night, at Regent College. It was a great show, very small compared to where I've seen them before. They played some old stuff, and then some new stuff that will be coming out next year. I noticed that their newer stuff has a slight jazz feel to it - definetly different than the Good Dog Bad Dog days! But still great.. cause it's Over the Rhine.. how could it not be great!?

    Water Shortage
As some of you may have heard, Vancouver is going through a water 'crisis' because of contamination in the city's water. We can't drink it out of the tap, you either have to buy bottled water or boil it, but even when you boil it, it's still brown... it just kills the bacteria.

It's 11:30pm and i am kicking myself for not stopping at the store on the way home from work to buy bottled water.. i am sooooo thirsty.....need....ice...water.........now.........

This weekend my dad came to visit. He had a business trip out this way, so he was able to stay with us for the weekend and it was great! So fun to have my dad around...we went out to eat and went to steveston and sportsjunkies and just hung out at the house. It's been a lot of fun to see him, especially since we wont be going home for christmas this year :( Sad....but i think, even though it will be very different to what I'm used to, it will be fun. Our first Christmas as a married couple too, so it will all be new.

Here's some pics from my dad's time with us.

    Operation Christmas Child
This year Craig and I decided to do the Operation Christmas Child thing where we each packed a shoebox full of fun kid stuff and then it will get send somewhere in the world. It was sooooo fun to do i felt like it was christmas for me! I think it would be such a cool thing to do if you had kids... let them pick out a box of stuff or something for a kid their age. Very neat... kudos to Samaritan's Purse for putting this together!

    baby shower success

Today there was a baby shower at my house with about 15-17 ladies and 2 little baby boys. One baby, Lucas, is about 7 weeks old and the other baby, Odyn, is almost 4 weeks...very tiny baby.. and so cute.

I had a really nice time, though to be honest it took me a while to relax because I was wanting to make sure there was enough chairs and coffee for everyone. No need to worry about food though, there was TONS of that..that's one nice thing about church ladies is that they have no problem bringing nice food and lots of it to parties.

All in all it was really nice and I got to meet more ladies from my church. I felt alittle more connected there after today. It really is a good church.

    Grills, Faith, and Babies
Tonight Craig cooked our first meal on the Grill (or, 'Bar-b-que' for my canadian readers). We bought it a few weeks ago but it was missing a part..so extremely long story short, we got the part and tonight Craig cooked his first hamburgers and a portobella mushroom for me!

    Very fun.

Women of Faith was this weekend..it was really good. I especially liked Sheila Walsh and Marilyn Meberg's talks..as well as a little blast from the past concert by a band I used to listen to when i was like 13 or 14 called Avalon. It was fun to see them perform songs that I used to love so much and havent heard in years!

This is my second time attending the conference and each time it has been a refreshing 2 days for me. I love hearing the women speak - they are so real... they never make life seem like its easy, they just tell it like it is, while speaking refreshing truth. It was really good.

And tomorrow there is a baby shower at my house for a girl I've never met.. she goes to my church and because we have a nice size livingroom, I offered to have it here. I am not really 'hosting' it, but I sort of am since it's at my house.. yeah you know what i mean. I'll let you know how it goes..

    Time to clean my house!
    peace

Wow I think I am losing my mind...First off, yesterday night at about 10:30pm, I was returning a phone call to my friend Pam, who said to me "So, what are you doing after work tomorrow? Do you want to ride down with me?" I was like...ride where?? Turns out it's the Women of Faith Conference this weekend, that i've known about for months and totally forgot/didn't ever compute that it was this weekend!!! Oh man... i quick had to change my plans of going to work today so that i could get done all the things I needed to get done before the conference.. And then I totally overslept!! Like ridicoulessly overslept! So i was rushing to get the laundry done...

    and then...

at about 2:20 pm, i get a phone call from the Crisis Centre. They were like "Hi jamie you were supposed to be here at 2 to do a shift, where are you?" I was like WHAT??? Oh my goodness...so i rushed over there, did my 2 hour shift, and came home with a half hour to spare before Pam picked me up for the conference... man what a day! I need a weekend...!

    Trick or Treat
Tonight we had about 25 kids come to our door to get candy. It was so fun to see the little costumes, although i noticed that about half of the people that came were about 15...hmmm.. I bet if i put on a mask or something i could go around and get candy next year!

Craig and I were hoping that we would have lots of candy left over, since we didn't really know how many kids were going to come..but as the night went on and our candy bowl emptied, we decided to put a sign on the door with about 6 peices left, saying we were out of candy... lol ... well, i mean, what if a group of 7 kids came, and then one wouldn't get candy? That wouldn't be very fair....

Olivia came back in SVU tonight. The first half of the episode was great - seeing her under cover with the eco-terrorists.. but i found that as the show went on, it kept getting more and more unrealistic... i think they just tried to throw too many story lines in one show...all the while trying to make Liv the star of the show... It was okay, but i still think they should've kept going with the whole eco-terrorist thing. It would've been neat to see her bring them down and uncover some big plot..instead it turns out she was with the 'wrong' group the whole time.. weird...

    thoughts anyone?
