    Hurry Up and Wait

Well it's off! My "Application for Permanent Residence within Canada, as well as the Application to Change Conditions, Extend Stay, or Remain in Canada" are in the mail. It's taken months to get everything together, and now I simply wait. I can expect to hear back from them in 8-10 months to see if Craig will be approved as a Sponsor, and then it will be another 4-6 months after that before I will actually be considered a perminant resident and be able to get my card. So I am looking at hopefully being a landed immigrant by maybe August 2008. Wow, that's a bit depressing... Oh well, atleast it's on it's way. And with all the prayer and hands laid upon it today, maybe it will jump to the top of the pile - who knows!?

    My Sabbath
Greetings friends. I love saturdays. They are my sabbath, my day of rest and my day to get things done, but not so much so that it feels busy. There's a happy medium between being bored, and being relaxed. Today was a good day.
I worked on my immigration a lot hopefully in the next year and a half, I will be a perminant resident of Canada! I will be able to come and go and not w. My original goal was to have it in the mail by the end of March (today) but it's not quite there yet. However we are only waiting on one letter from Craig's boss and once we have that (hopefully monday) then I believe it will be ready to go in the mail.. wow.. it seems like this day would never come. I felt buried in mountains of paper work, each thing waiting on another thing waiting on another thing... I can't beleive that one day, I wont have to worry about crossing the border or renewing a visa.. I will be able to bring home a paycheck and go to school without paying extra! Wow... Here's a pic Craig took of my working on assembling the packet together. I just counted it - 66 pages..can you beleive that? 66 pages of applications, photos, letters, income and bank statements, photocopies of birth certifacates and passports... Crazy.

It was a beautiful day today as well. Sunny and warm..we did 2 loads of laundry, Craig grilled steaks for dinner (a salmon steak for me of course) and then we took a long walk down to sciece world (about 4.5 Kilometers). Good good day.

    I'm in the System

I did it. I got my fingerprints done finally.. this has been the part of immigration I have been avoiding, mostly because the Police Dept is down near Main and Hastings and I just didn't want to go do it.
But I did it woo hooooo!!! One step closer to becomming a permanent resident...

    Fun with Paperwork
I just spent an hour reading a bunch of my old posts from 2005... so fun to read and remember! I laughed at myself a lot over the things I was freaking out about..at the time they seemed so important but looking back, they just make me laugh..

Anyway, just thought I'd update you on my mountains of paperwork. I'm happy to report that I was able to get in at the doctor's yesterday for my immigration physical. Not the most pleasant, but when is a doc appt pleasant, really...? Also, this evening I spent a few hours putting together some of the forms I will need to send in with my immigration application. I worked on the "Spouse/common-law Questionnaire" where you have to show proof that your relationship is real and long term. So I put together a little collage from our wedding and made basically a newsletter type thing with photos of places Craig and I have been together, and family shots. Basically I have to prove that our family and friends know of our relationship and that it's not just to get a visa. Here's a pic of one of the collages... fun times :) I hope the Gov't thinks my wedding was pretty!
