    fun filled festival

I spent the day at Canada Place, working the YWAM Vancouver booth at Mission's Fest.

    Best story of the day:
A man came over to our booth where i was eating a muffin. He asked me where I got it, i told him over at the coffee shop. He asked if i had to pay for it, i said yes. He asked why, I said you'll have to ask them. He asked if he could have some of my muffin.

What could i do? I'm at missions fest! I must give the man some muffin.....

Well I am sure by now many of you have heard about my key fiasco. Yes, i did throw them out the window to Craig, and yes they did get stuck in the tree.... Now that we've got that settled, i will tell you how it happened.

You see, the front door of my appartment building is a long way from the back...so when craig comes he just calls me from the back door and i throw my keys out to him. So this last time when i went to throw them to him, i was attempting to get them to land in a little patch of grass under the tree because i didnt want to smash the compass that was on the keychain...but sort of 'undershot' and got them stuck in the tree, quite high up, about 15 feet. After about a half hour of trying to get them out by standing on someones deck, and using a mop, we gave up. 2 days later we came back, this time with a ladder and a big stick, and Craig set them free!!!

    new toys
    Hey everyone

well my mom said that i needed a new post, so i thought i'd catch you up on what I've been doing. I have been pretty busy, though not just work stuff. It seems like I have just had a lot going on.

But i have good news! I finally found an AMAZING deal on what i could spend my christmas money on - snowboard stuff! Now i have my own stuff, and we are going up to Grouse mtn. tomorrow! I can't wait. Here's a pic of the new board i got.

Been watching lots of Oprah lately...the dvds are amazing. I cry, I laugh...it's a good time. Even Craig likes them.

    hey everyone,

well i am back in vancouver. It's sat and SUNNY today! Wow... I heard it rained like 27 days in a row!!?? Well i am glad its nice today. I might go look at snowboards this afternoon. I was going to go ice skating but i'll do that tomorrow, as rach and audge are coming over for 'tea' and british things.

One thing i really felt over break was that when i come back to vancouver, i want to put more time and energy into doing things that i ENJOY, for example, ice skating. I took figure skating lessons all through high school, and the last time i skated before christmas was on my DTS! I think in doing more things like this, it will help me to integrate into the community more, as well as continue to break the poverty/missionary mentality that has held me back in the past.

hey everyone. Well I just got back from 4 days in Tomahawk, where i lived from about 1995 - 2001. I had an absolute blast. I got to hang out with my best friends from high school, Stephany and Sarah, and i got to meet Sarah's new additions to her family. Here are some pics from my time with them.

I also went snowmobiling with my parents and some of their friends, which was soooooo fun.. i really missed snowmobiling, it's been so long since i last went. Don't have much of that going on in Vancouver!

Well, in just 24 hours i will start my trek back to Vancouver. I am both happy and sad. This vacation has definetly been one of the best. I have gotten to spend LOTS of time with family and friends that I haven't seen in so long. But i am looking forward to getting home as well and seeing my Vancouver family that i've missed.

So long to some, and see you soon to others!

    King Kong

Last night we went to see King Kong..and i very highly reccomend it. I have to say, i wasn't actually too interested to go before, but since my family was going i thought what the heck.. free movie.. and I really really loved it!

Interesting thing happened though - half way through the movie, all of the sudden the lights come up, the movie shuts off and the fire alarm starts blaring.. we had to all evacuate the theatre and wait 35 minutes before we could go back in to finish the movie. It was weird! But a grrrreat movie!

    i suck at bowling
    Hey everyone

Had a good night last night bowling with the fam and craig. My mom, dad, brother, and Craig all broke 100 both games, and I think i got a 64 and a 71. Yeah i really suck at bowling. It was a lot of fun though.

Tomorrow if its not raining we are hoping to hit the slopes again. If not, its sushi and King Kong. Today we just lounged around while craig and my dad watched football, and my mom and I watched heartprints with oprah and cried. Nice day.

And then some with my family, my aunt and uncle, and Craig, playing games on New Year's Eve. We almost forgot it was New Years Eve though, and i had to get them to turn off the movie we were watching in order to watch the Ball drop....sheesh..new years sure isn't like it used to be! Where's the hats and blow thingys? Where's the sparkling champane?? Oh well.. tis a season of new traditions ;)
