Sorry I am sucking at blogging. Part of me wonders if that's just the way it's going to be now... a post here and there, as opposed to a pretty regular one that I managed to keep up with for over 3 years. We'll see... I find I'm often thinking about things I want to blog about but just never getting around to it. It's not that I don't have any free time, cause I do have some..just not much. Next week I am scheduled to be at Old Navy for 45 hours over 5 days. That's a lot of hours. I also still have about 3.5 weeks of school left, and it's hard to keep in the school mentality when everyone else is either done or almost done. But come Dec 19th I am a FREE WOMAN for a month and then it starts all over again.
Okay enough of that. Now the fun stuff --- my travels to North Carolina. I kept telling everyone we were going to Virginia but that is because I forgot my Aunt, who lives in VA, decided to have her wedding in NC where my other 2 aunts and grandparents live. So anyway, about 2 weeks ago Craig and I hopped in the car and drove first to Ohio, where we met up with my dad and brother. Then the next day we all drove to North Carolina (about 9 hrs) and went to the rehearsal dinner. It was in a really nice seafood restaurant, very elegant and dark. I really loved it, and it was great seeing my extended family whom we haven't seen since our wedding. Here are some pics from that night.
My family...waiting for food! The bride and Groom - Linda and George, and my Grandma My mom making us all laugh. The next day was my Aunt Linda's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony, very traditional. My gandpa was able to make it, which was great. It was a little hard to see him this time, he's much smaller and more frail-looking and I don't think he recognized me. But I'm happy he was able to be there for the ceremony. My mom and my other 2 aunts were the bridesmaids, they all looked beautiful. The wedding colors were like a green and blue plaid, which was so cool. I loved seeing my mom all dressed up! Aww how pretty My grandparents The Kiss! The Jameson Family Afterwords we went to the reception at another beautiful location, and had amazing food once again. It was an afternoon meal, the perfect amount of time really because there were no dancing or speeches so nothing dragged on. Craig and I were at a table with my brother and cousins, so it was nice to catch up with them. Craig and I at our table This was so neat - instead of throwing rice or bubles, they had us wave this ribbons at them. It was great. All the cousins on the Jameson side The Porter Fam together again! WooHoo:) Labels: blogging, north carolina, wedding |
