    the most intriguing book
    hi folks.

I need to talk to you about a story i have been interested in. It's called Beloved, by Toni Morrison. Has anyone read it? To me this is one of those books you must read and discuss..it cannot be read on it's own...too much symbolism and too deep. Let me know if anyone wants to discuss.

I got interested in this story first as a movie. I saw at the library that Oprah starred in it so i was like, cool...so i rented it. And i tell ya it was the weirdest movie i think I have ever seen. At first i turned it off in the beginning because i didn't think i would like it. But something in me just had to know what was going to happen...so i finished it.. and then i couldn't stop thinking about the story so i decided to read the book. In this case, i am glad i saw the movie first because the book is written in typical Toni fashion - lots of detail, things dont make sense the beginning but all come together later, which is frustrating sometimes, but it keeps you intrigued. Anyway i am about a third of the way through and only read it in bits and peices because it's alot to take in.

Hope i've inspired some of you to check it out!! Let me know if you do!

      Hey Jamers,

I read the book in school and really loved it. It encouraged me to read some of the works of Maya Angelou, in particular 'I know why the caged bird sings' and one of her poems still i rise. Are you familiar with them?

      Lucious. xx
